सरकारों द्वारा कम इन्फ्रा खर्च के साथ युग्मित मैक्रो-इकोनॉमिक स्थितियों को चुनौती देते हुए, सीमेंट की मांग पर असर पड़ा, व्यक्तिगत हाउसिंग सेगमेंट ने अच्छा कर्षण दिखाया।

COVID-19 महामारी के कारण राष्ट्रव्यापी तालाबंदी हालांकि वित्तीय वर्ष 2019-20 के बंद होने के अंतिम दिनों में सीमेंट की मांग को प्रभावित करती है। 20 फरवरी तक 11 महीने के लिए सीमेंट उत्पादन के आंकड़ों और 20 मार्च को अपेक्षित उत्पादन के आधार पर, 2019-20 के दौरान सीमेंट उत्पादन 2018-19 के समान स्तर पर रहने की उम्मीद है।

COVID-19 महामारी ने देश भर में तालाबंदी और समग्र आर्थिक गतिविधियों में परिणामी गिरावट के कारण सीमेंट की मांग को कम किया है। महामारी के प्रभाव की निरंतरता के आसपास अनिश्चितता निकट भविष्य के लिए दृष्टिकोण के बारे में कोई भी प्रस्ताव करना मुश्किल बना देती है। हालांकि अल्पावधि दृष्टिकोण अनिश्चित है, सीमेंट उद्योग का दीर्घकालिक दृष्टिकोण विभिन्न आर्थिक सुधारों, बढ़ती आकांक्षाओं, निरंतर खपत की गति और लगातार इन्फ्रा खर्च के कारण सकारात्मक बना हुआ है।

क्षमता की व्याख्या

वर्ष के दौरान, कंपनी ने झारखंड के सेराकेला- खरसावां जिले में 2.5 MTPA की क्षमता वाले क्लिंकर ग्राइंडिंग यूनिट को पूरा किया। इसके अलावा, कंपनी की निम्नलिखित परियोजनाएं हैं:

महाराष्ट्र के पुणे जिले के पाटास में 3.0 एमटीपीए की क्लिंकर पीस यूनिट जो वित्त वर्ष 20-21 की दूसरी तिमाही तक पूरी होने वाली है।

वित्तीय विशिष्टताएं

वर्ष के दौरान बिक्री की मात्रा (सीमेंट और क्लिंकर) 3.6% घटकर 24.92 मिलियन टन हो गई, जिसका मुख्य कारण मार्च 20 के अंतिम दिनों में लॉकडाउन की घोषणा है।³ 

ऑपरेशन्स से रेवेन्यू 1.6% बढ़कर 11,904.00 करोड़ रुपये हो गया, जिसका मुख्य कारण `बेहतर सीमेंट प्राइस रियलाइज़ेशन 'है। इसमें 515.24 करोड़ रुपये की बिजली की बिक्री शामिल है, जो पिछले साल प्राप्त `801.88 करोड़ की तुलना में कम थी।

वर्ष के दौरान, नरम पेटकोक और कोयले की कीमतों के कारण बिजली और ईंधन की लागत कम हो गई। कच्चे माल की लागत पर, कंपनी फ्लाई ऐश और अन्य सामग्रियों की खरीद का अनुकूलन करके लागत को नियंत्रित करने में सक्षम थी। कंपनी ने अपने परिचालन के दौरान अभिनव और वैकल्पिक तरीकों के माध्यम से लागत अनुकूलन पर अपने प्रयासों को जारी रखा।

EBITDA 36.2% बढ़कर 3,946 करोड़ हो गया। यह `मुख्य रूप से कंपनी के मजबूत ब्रांड पोर्टफोलियो के कारण बेहतर प्राप्ति के कारण था, जिसमें कंपनी द्वारा लॉन्च किए गए प्रीमियम सीमेंट ब्रांडों से योगदान और वर्ष के दौरान किए गए कई लागत अनुकूलन उपायों शामिल थे।

पिछले साल कंपनी ने बाजार में प्रीमियम सीमेंट ब्रांड (रूफॉन और बांगुर पावर) लॉन्च किए। दोनों प्रीमियम ब्रांडों को बाजारों द्वारा अच्छी तरह से प्राप्त किया गया है। कंपनी के पास अब सीमेंट उपभोक्ताओं के सभी क्षेत्रों को संबोधित करने के लिए ब्रांडों की एक पूरी श्रृंखला है।

वर्ष 2019-20 के दौरान, कंपनी ने रु. 110 / - का अंतरिम लाभांश रु. 10 / - प्रति इक्विटी शेयर का भुगतान किया है। अतिरिक्त लाभांश के रूप में प्रति शेयर इक्विटी। पिछले साल कंपनी ने  60 / - प्रति शेयर (रु. 25 / - प्रति शेयर अंतरिम लाभांश के रूप में और अंतिम लाभांश के रूप में 35 / - रुपये प्रति शेयर) का भुगतान किया था।
